From 1999-2016, the Amelia Piano Triowas one of the most sought-after piano trios in the world. Mentored by Isaac Stern, who presented our Carnegie Hall début at Weill Recital Hall, the Trio went on to perform at Carnegie’s Stern Hall (the big hall) and nearly every major series and festival in the USA, including the 92nd Street Y and Miller Theater (NYC), the Library of Congress (Washington, D.C.), and the Caramoor, Ravinia, Aspen, and La Jolla Music Festivals. We also appeared at prestigious venues in Canada, Germany, France and the UK, and won the ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming.
When violinist Anthea Kreston was invited to join Germany’s renowned Artemis String Quartet, the Amelia Trio elected to take a hiatus, enabling her to become the only American holding a full-time position with a major German quartet.
In 2026—a decade since the trio last performed - Anthea and Jason decided to mark that milestone by bringing the trio back to the concert stage, now in the company of the celebrated pianist Ilya Yakushev. The Amelia Piano Trio is thrilled to embark on this new chapter with fresh passion.
